Bookstart

Bookstart resources and information about how to access resources for children at your setting.

Last updated

Bookstart aims to provide free reading packs for all babies and support reading and literacy for pre-school children. Bookstart is a national programme run by Booktrust - the UK’s largest children’s reading charity. It aims to encourage all parents and carers to enjoy books with their children from as early an age as possible. In Leicestershire, the library service works together with health professionals and early years settings such as nurseries, pre-schools, and children’s centres to deliver the Bookstart offer.

Find out more about the Bookstart offer in Leicestershire or access digital resources by visiting Bookstart.

We may have recently sent you a letter as your setting is able to access the Bookstart Pre-schooler pack suitable for 3-4 year olds from your local library. To access the resources for children of this age at your setting please fill in the ordering form. Please note that if you have not received a letter we will not be able to provide resources for your setting.
