We are looking for an experienced and passionate practitioner who can share our aims and ethos.
You will be dynamic, can work as part of a team, have a strong, passionate work ethic with the desire to learn on the job. You will be able to use your initiative and time manage your day effectively to assist in the smooth running of our Playgroup with a desire to complete ongoing continuing professional development. ❖ Is able to laugh at jokes they don't understand, or don't find funny!
❖ Doesn't have to have the ability to be able to sing in tune but must have the confidence to sing out of tune in front of a crowd.
❖ Must be able to distribute warm hugs, as and when required.
❖ Must possess the skills required to rapidly count the heads of numerous moving small people. This is of the utmost importance.
❖ Must have the ability to pretend to eat all types of creations realistically. This is an essential requirement along with drinking numerous cups of pretend tea.
❖ Must have the ability to read many stories, with interruptions on every page.
❖ Must be prepared to have lots of fun in the workplace. Laughter is something you can expect to engage in for a large part of your working day.
❖ Must be able to work in close partnership with parents and a range of professionals involved.
❖ You must be brave…. brave enough to see the benefits, risk assess, and watch children climbing, balancing, and running, and to help them celebrate their achievements!
❖ Work as part of a team, with no real hierarchy. All ideas, thoughts and creativity are welcome, and each team member truly a part of a beautiful approach to Early Years care and education.
❖ Be flexible with hours to cover other staff members for training, holidays and sickness.
Main duties:
To ensure that the children have their best days ever, to work in a close knit team and to liaise with parents and other professionals.
Experience and qualifications:
Preferably level 3 qualified but we would accept level 2 if you were the right person.
Personal qualities:
We are looking for someone with a sunny disposition who can work in a team but also independently. We want someone who can develop the children's learning through play. You will need to be punctual, a good communicator and have a good grasp of written English for the Learning Journeys and reports.
Terms and conditions:
Salary: £12.21 per hour Hours: 16.5 hours per week: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 9.00am to 3:00pm (with a 30-minute lunch break) term time and 12 Holiday Club days (9-3) per year (Easter and Summer) We would expect you to be signed up to the DBS update service and have Paediatric First Aid
