Local Safeguarding Children's Partnership
The Leicestershire and Rutland Safeguarding Children Partnership and The Leicester Safeguarding Children Partnership both offer training, events and resources; which are often fully funded to the early years and childcare workforce. Multi-Agency Training and Events supports effective safeguarding issues, raise awareness of how other agencies work, including specific challenges, real cases and local knowledge.

Allegations Management Training
This half day course will be based on a school perspective but the systems that the Allegations Managers works within are the same.
This course, aimed at setting managers, leaders, proprieters and committee chairs, will give participants an understanding of their roles and responsibilities with regard to the handling of allegations about staff conduct, the role of the Local Authority, Allegations Manager and safer working practices. The Allegations Manager and LADO, together with a representative from the Local Authorities HR normally attend to comment and advise on current practice. Numbers are very limited for childcare settings.

Leicestershire Adult Learning Service
How confident are you when using IT? Most communications regarding your childcare business are now digital; including communications from us and E-Learning and Webinars are becoming increasingly popular. Are you making the most of opportunities by embracing the 'digital age' we now live in, or are you feeling a little unconfident and insecure?
The Adult Learning Service offer a variety of courses at locations across Leicestershire designed to improve your confidence and ability to work with computers and other digital equipment. The area of adult learning is titled Digital Skills.

Autism Education Trust
Autism affects around 1 in 100 children and adults. All professionals working in early years education settings should be prepared to support children on the autism spectrum and all staff should have a basic awareness of autism and the needs of individual children.
Early Years Communication and Interaction Team provide a range of training to support Autism, available for both practitioners in early years education, and school staff who are involved in some way with Autism Spectrum Disorders. View our training opportunities.
NDNA
Providers can access NDNA training courses that can be delivered at a time and place to suit them; either in-house in their setting, at a regional training centre or online. the NDNA can also offer weekend and evening courses to help settings limit the time they spend away from their nursery.
HMRC
Free online seminars (webinars) are available for people who are either thinking of becoming a childminder or who are already childminding.
The webinar, How to complete your online tax return for childminders is a basic guide to key tax and National Insurance issues affecting self-employed childminders. It explains how to register with HMRC, what expenses are allowable and how to keep records. In addition you will be able to ask your own questions.
The webinar lasts for about an hour and as long as you have internet access you can take part from wherever suits you. You can use a laptop, iPad, iPhone or Android phone/tablet.
