The nursery is rated as Outstanding by Ofsted and is looking for a team member to provide high-quality care, safety, and stimulating play experiences to children. The role involves working as part of a team to ensure all children's needs are met and implementing the daily routine. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will observe, support, and extend children's learning, work collaboratively with other staff, and liaise with parents to promote partnership and involvement. Main duties:
As a Nursery Practitioner Level 3, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties that support the children's development and the smooth operation of the nursery. This includes beginning to plan activities using EYFS guidance appropriate to each child's stage of development and maintaining their records of achievement. You will work with parents of children with special needs to ensure they are fully integrated into the nursery. You'll also support other staff members and students and participate in all childcare procedures, including ensuring children's nutritional needs are met during mealtimes and maintaining their general cleanliness. You will be responsible for washing and changing children as needed, providing comfort to an unwell child, and helping them to rest or sleep. Furthermore, you will be responsible for ensuring the provision of a high-quality environment that meets the needs of children from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds. This role requires flexibility within the nursery's working practices, including being prepared to move rooms and undertake certain domestic jobs as needed. You will also use your initiative to respond to the needs of the children and ensure their safeguarding at all times. This includes understanding child protection procedures and keeping children safe. You will also be responsible for recording any accidents or incidents in the relevant books and ensuring parents' signatures are obtained. The successful candidate will also be expected to attend staff meetings and out-of-work social events.
Experience and qualifications:
Candidates should have a recognised nursery qualification (Level 2 or 3) and a qualification in English. You must have practical experience of day care for young children and knowledge of the EYFS curriculum, including purposeful planning. Experience communicating with parents/carers is also require
