Job description:
Here at The Scraptoft Day Nursery we pride ourselves on being at the heart of our local community. Staff care for a small group of children in small class sizes across 4 classrooms, taking responsibility for children's emotional health and wellbeing, educational development and Physical development. Building partnerships with parents and being part of an experienced team. We are an inclusive setting and have children with additional needs that sometimes need careful planning and adjustments being made. Our children eat healthy homecooked meals and staff support babies and toddlers for Breakfast Lunch and tea. Enrichment activities such as Arti, dance and Yoga/Super star sports/ Forest school are all planned to support staff provide wonderful opportunities to learn. We have a large extensive play space and lots of opportunities for planned trips The children attend 8-6 Monday to friday. Staff work a 36/37/38/39 hour week. We close for a week at Christmas and the bank holidays.
Main duties:
Day to day care of children Feeding and cleaning up after meals Nappy changing and toilet duties Planning a rich learning environment/ next steps and observations/ report writting Parent partnerships/ following preferences and working with families to reach developmental milestones Working as part of a team Taking responsibility for children's safety and medical needs Making wellbeing a priority and working with children and staff to have a in inclusive and kind environment Promoting positive attitudes to behaviour and supporting families with early years challenges Keeping a clean and organised environment
Experience and qualifications:
Qualified Level 2 or 3 EYPP Safeguarding, Paediatric first aid and Basic food Hygiene, Positive behaviour management are preferred

To be competent in understanding child development To have a passion for early years and personal growth and development To show enthusiasm for learning To have a kind /patient and caring nature To be a role model to children and babies To understand current parenting struggles and support
Terms and conditions:
Job offer subject to a DBS and 2 Satisfactory References and 3 month Probationary period. Full induction must be completed. Terms and conditions issued on first day Holidays pro rata if beginning part way through the year
