Our Good Food Charter

The charter is our vision for good food in Leicestershire.

Good food is a cornerstone of thriving communities, it:

  • Strengthens the local economy by supporting regional producers and businesses
  • Tackles poverty by improving access to nutritious meals for everyone
  • Promotes better health through balanced, wholesome diets
  • Protects the environment by encouraging sustainable practices and reducing waste
  • Is affordable, accessible, and nourishing, ensuring equity across all communities

This commitment outlines how individuals, organisations, and communities can each play a role in building a fairer, healthier, and more sustainable food system.

This charter sets out how everyone can play their part.
