Emotion Coaching and the Virtual School for Foster Carers
Who should attend: Foster carers and residential staff
Session details: 3 hour training session
- Overview: Emotion Coaching is a tool that schools can use to support staff to improve communication with students and to support a more relational approach to managing behaviour.
- Emotion Coaching methods have a positive impact on student and staff wellbeing as well as providing a clear route to the kind of reflective conversations which can impact change.
- Key Learning Outcomes: To support staff to confidently use the 4-stage process to support students 'in the moment' – notice and empathise label and validate, set limits problem-solve together.

Supporting your Child Transition to Secondary School: LAC
Who should attend: Foster carers and residential staff with year 6 children
Session details: 1.5 hour online session
Training overview: An opportunity to understand the challenges involved in the transition to secondary school and explore useful strategies and support tools to help your child through it.
Key learning outcomes:
- Strategies to help prepare for secondary school transition
- How to manage endings and new beginnings smoothly
- How to support your child once the new term starts
- How to develop positive communication with schools
- What is needed, expectations and developing independence
