Job description:
We are looking for an experienced practitioner in term time only, for our Registered Charity Pre-School, working with children 2-5 years. The applicant will be a key person for a small group of children and will be responsible for observation and assessment and helping children reach their next steps. They will work as part of a team to deliver high standards of care and education. Experience working with SEND will be an advantage in this role as the applicant will be supporting our group SENDCo supporting children one to one. We are looking for an energetic, committed staff member who puts the children at the centre of their profession and is proactive in keeping standards of interaction, care and policy and procedure high at all times. They must be committed in working in partnership with parents to help every child achieve, in preparation for their transition to school.
Main duties:
To carry out the role of Early Years Practitioner in the setting, adhering to the policies and procedures of the setting, to keep the setting and children safe at all times. To plan, observe, teach and assess children in your care with high expectations, helping them reach their next steps ready for school. To be punctual and reliable, help keep the setting clean and tidy and follow all health and safety requirements. To be trained in Safeguarding, 1st Aid and Food hygiene, and attend regular in house training. To produce progress reports and support the group SENDCo. in her role working one to one and helping to develop and carry out targeted plans.
Experience and qualifications:
Minimum of level 3 Early Years Qualification 3+ years experience in a similar role English Maths and ICT at level C/4 or above. SEND experience is and advantage Safeguarding, 1st Aid and Food Hygiene are desirable but full training will be provided.
