Fire Safety in Schools: Policy on Use of Sprinkler Systems

New policy and guidance about to how to access the fire risk and sprinkler priority assessment tool.

In the immediate aftermath of the Grenfell Tower tragedy the County Council began a comprehensive review of its approach to fire safety.

This included operational practices and the adoption of a policy on the use of sprinkler systems in council buildings, together with a new fire risk and sprinkler priority assessment tool. This has entailed contacting all schools to obtain details of their fire risk procedures.

At its meeting of 12 June 2018 the Cabinet approved a new policy, which also provides guidance about to how to access the new Sprinkler Risk Assessment Tool:
