Fire Safety in Schools: Policy on Use of Sprinkler Systems

Policy and guidance about how to access the fire risk and sprinkler priority assessment tool.

In the immediate aftermath of the Grenfell Tower tragedy, the county council began a comprehensive review of its approach to fire safety.

This included operational practices and the adoption of a policy on the use of sprinkler systems in council buildings, together with a fire risk and sprinkler priority assessment tool. This has entailed contacting all schools to obtain details of their fire risk procedures.

At its meeting of 12 June 2018 the Cabinet approved the policy, which also provides guidance about how to access the Sprinkler Risk Assessment Tool. See the latest version of the policy:
