Beacon Voices Christmas Concert

In December our Children in Care Choir, Beacon Voices, performed in front of a packed audience of carers, family and LCC staff at Attenborough Arts Centre.

The choir members had been practising really hard all term, and had the opportunity to show everyone the Choir’s own touch to crowd favourites such as Hey Brother by Avicii, Eye of the Tiger by Survivor, and Santa Claus is Coming to Town. Audience members had the opportunity to join in and sing along to some of the songs with the help of choir members. The evening ended with guests and young people tucking in to a selection of festive snacks and some fun group games. All in all a great way to enter the festive season and break off for the Christmas holidays on a high.

Leicestershire Matters

We have filled the final spot on our Public Advisory Group (PAG), forming a diverse panel of eight members. This is an important step towards ensuring our work is informed by a broad range of public voices and lived experiences.

Young people in three Leicestershire schools will have the opportunity to have their say in the future of health research and meet a Great British Bake Off star as part of a new project.

Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) Leicestershire hosted its first event with members of the public in March 2025.

We're introducing a series of learning sessions to help improve research skills.

Money to help boost research into Leicestershire's health given go ahead.

Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) Leicestershire hosted its first research skills conference for Leicestershire County Council staff on 14 November 2024.
