Early Years SEN Inclusion Service (EYSENIS)

For specialist advisors and practitioners who support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) from birth until they start school.

  • Practitioners 

    Information for early years practitioners, childminders and other professional colleagues, with a focus on the graduated approach of assess, plan, do, review and early identification.

  • Extra help for pre-school children 

    Settings of pre-school children with SEND can use the Early Years Panel Referral Form to request home visits and extra teaching to help with child development.

  • Support with SEND from the local authority 

    The Early Years SEND Inclusion team supports children with additional needs.

  • Apply for Inclusion Funding for children with high needs 

    Inclusion Funding may be available to early years settings, when children with very complex needs would benefit from additional staff support.

  • SENCOs 

    Every childcare setting has a SENCO who will work with staff, children and parents to develop appropriate strategies to support a child's learning.

  • Information for parents 

    For parents of pre-school children with special educational needs or disabilities.
