Tips for supporting pre-school children transitioning to primary school

The Leicestershire Educational Psychology Service, in conjunction with the Leicestershire Virtual School, have written advice for carers of children transitioning from pre-school to primary school in the autumn term.

As we are getting near to the time when children are starting school in Reception class, we thought some practical and additional information, in addition to that you have already received, will be helpful.  We have developed this advice with the Leicestershire Educational Psychology Service, particularly considering the needs of LAC children.

Please have a read and consider if there is anything additional that you could do at this time, in preparation for school, to make the transition smoother for all.

Tips for foster carers supporting pre-school children with the transition to primary school

For those children who are still LAC in the autumn term there will be a PEP which will be lead by one of the Primary Officers from the Virtual School.
