Seascape with cliffs in the distance

A late breakfast of pancakes this morning. We were feeling a bit grubby and salty after being in the sea yesterday so we went for a lovely embracing shower. Next to our boat was a lavish yacht similar to one Madonna would own and we convinced ourselves we saw her through the blacked out windows!

We split into two teams for a challenge: We had to go down town in Poole and find the tackiest souvenir for £3. One team made balloon ice creams and the other team found a "dad dance mat" and made the skipper try out.

Then we set the sails again; we're getting the hang of it now. We sailed from Poole all the way to a spot opposite Osborne House on the Isle of Wight.

We had some chill time in the afternoon, which we spent chatting, listening to music and playing cards. We even had a bit of a rave on the front of the boat!

We need to go now as we're going to do a night sail tonight. Stay tuned to read all about it!

Leicestershire Matters

We held workshops across Leicestershire schools to hear about young people's priorities within their local areas to support community health and wellbeing.

The HDRC Leicestershire Research to Reality training series concluded a successful year in September with 94 attendees across the four-session series.

We have filled the final spot on our Public Advisory Group (PAG), forming a diverse panel of eight members. This is an important step towards ensuring our work is informed by a broad range of public voices and lived experiences.

Young people in three Leicestershire schools will have the opportunity to have their say in the future of health research and meet a Great British Bake Off star as part of a new project.

Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) Leicestershire hosted its first event with members of the public in March 2025.

We're introducing a series of learning sessions to help improve research skills.
