Terrible Tales in Leicestershire
Leicestershire Virtual School is working in collaboration with the Communities and Wellbeing Heritage Service to offer workshops at a number of museums. The theme is "Terrible Tales in Leicestershire"

Virtual School Heads Annual Conference 2019
Over 100 Virtual School heads attended the NAVSH annual conference at the Old Trafford Cricket ground, Manchester on Wednesday and Thursday 20th and 21st March. They were joined by speakers (amongst others) Nadhim Zahawi, Stuart Gallimore and Andy Burnham to discuss and debate current issues relating to the education of, and outcomes for looked after children, previously looked after children and care leavers.

Perfect Score-Music Conference
Last week a group of young people attended a Music Careers conference at Curve accompanied by the Virtual School Youth Worker.

Primary University Inspiration Day - 5th March 2019
The Primary University Inspiration Day gave our primary aged children the opportunity to visit the University of Leicester and gain an insight into what it is like to be involved in Higher Education.

Celebration of Achievement Awards 2019
Leicestershire’s inspirational children in care and care leavers were honoured at a special celebration of achievement awards event held at Leicester City Football Club’s King Power Stadium on Thursday 28th February and Friday 1st March 2019. Over 400 children and young people were presented with a series of accolades.

Virtual School Creative Writing Project –Superheroes!
The Virtual School is launching a creative writing project to help Leicestershire LAC improve their skills and help them see themselves as writers.

Beacon Voices Christmas Concert
In December our Children in Care Choir, Beacon Voices, performed in front of a packed audience of carers, family and LCC staff at Attenborough Arts Centre.

Arts Awards through Concept
A group of Leicestershire Children in Care have earned an Arts Award through Concept.

STEM Taster Day at De Montfort University
In November, five young people attended a STEM taster day at the De Montfort University.

“Cat in the Hat” at Curve Theatre
On December 10 a group of young people and their carers went to see an adaptation of the famous book by Dr Seuss, The Cat in the Hat.
